אודות
פרופ' גילי קוגלר היא פרופ' חבר ללימודי מקרא באוניברסיטת חיפה. היא גם חברה בין-תחומית במכון תל אביב לפסיכואנליזה בת־זמננו. בנוסף היא עמיתת מחקר של קרן הומבולדט באוניברסיטת גטינגן בגרמניה, ולאחרונה נבחרה כחברה באקדמיה למדעים של סקסוניה התחתונה (Lower Saxony) בגרמניה, וזוכת מלגת חנה ארנדט לשנת 2026 עבור פרויקט בנושא דמוקרטיה ותיאולוגיה פוליטית. בשנים 2015–2021 שימשה כמרצה בכירה באוניברסיטת סידני בתחום חקר המקרא והעברית הקלאסית.
מחקריה של קוגלר עוסקים בהתפתחותם הספרותית-היסטורית של טקסטים מקראיים ובהיבטיהם התיאולוגיים, פוליטיים ופסיכולוגיים. עבודתה דנה, בין היתר, ברעיונות של נבחרוּת; בנרטיבים של אלימות ורצח עם; בדימויי משפחה בשיח התאולוגי; במיתולוגיה המקראית בדיאלוג עם הפסיכולוגיה המודרנית; במסורות מודחקות וסותרות בחומש, לצד זיקות בין היסטוריה לפוליטיקה בספר תהלים; בהתקבלויות יהודיות ונוצריות של אלימות אלוהית; ובפרשנויות ציוניות ומשיחיות לנרטיבים מקראיים של כיבוש ועקירה.
